R. goebeliana Backeberg Descr. Cact. nov. [1]; 10 (1956 publ. 1957)

- Flat-stem type with wavy edges.
- Body - bushy, hanging.
- Primary-shoots - narrow, flt, with a robust nerve,
8 mm broad above. terete below, vivid green.
- Terminal shoots narrowly oblong,
tapering above, c. 8 - 13 cm long 2.5 - 3 cm broad sometimes
slightly wavy.
- Flowers - pinkish-white.
- Ovary - oblong. with scales.
- Fruit - greenish-white.
- DISTRIBUTION. Bolivia (La Paz, Cochabamba): epiphyte
in evergreen rainforest, at c. 200-250 m altitude.
Very similar to the Brazilian R.
oblonga (q.v.) and flat-stemmed forms of the Andean R.
micrantha Kunth f. micrantha.
